My severe case of bloggus interruptus seems to be coming to an end.
I gave myself a gift these last few weeks. The gift of time. Blogging, Facebooking and tweeting are now de rigeur in journalism. And they’re really time consuming if you want to make the effort worthwhile.
It dawned on me that I was spending far too much time in front of a computer screen when I should have been chasing after a golf ball, getting some exercise (golf doesn’t count), or just splitting a bottle of wine with my wife over conversation.
So I did.
My golf game’s pretty good, I’ve dropped a few pounds, and my wife and I have enjoyed many variations of the grape as she kicks my ass at Rummikub.
But we change with the seasons…and I feel some writing coming on. If you’re still there…
You sound very relaxed, Gerry. Good for you!
Guess you haven’t been watching the Red Sox lately.
Ah, I couldn’t resist.
It’s been such a swift Sox September swoon- like the good old days.
They are redefining the word suck.
Do what is important.
We will wait.
Thanks, Bruce.
Really glad you’re back, Gerry. I missed you
If you’d like to attend the ALDS in St. Pete, the Em-Kel resort is available at very attractive rates.
Thanks. I am about to become a Rays fan, as a matter of fact. They seem to enjoy what they do more than the Red Sox.
I was wondering where you were! Take whatever time you want, my Google Reader will let me know when you have something to say.
And I know what you mean – sitting in front of the computer can consume hours of my day if I let it!
Oh, I’ve been hanging around. Thanks, Nancy.
Still here. Is that really you there?
Let me check. Yes!
I will always remember September 2011 for looking at the seemingly enternal photo of you in front of that Italian restaurant and the lovely Red Sox. But you came back.

Still trying to digest the improbable fact that the great Josh Beckett cannot beat the Baltimore Orioles.
Gerry –
Glad you’re back and relaxed. Unfortunately we can only blame the Sox’s relaxation and desire to join you on the golf course to your taking time away…..and they were doing so well this year. Well they have a slump every year…..this year it was September….
Thanks Tom. Wait for the next post.
Yes, I’m still here along with many others. Am more than happy that you are back sounding rested and rarin’ to write. 🙂 As for the Red Sox…..
Thanks Wendy. As for the Red Sox…
I’m a day late (I’d just about given up), but I’m so happy you’re back! It’s always good to take some time for whatever reason to do whatever you need to do. Welcome back!
Thank you, Linda.
You must have read my mind. As I was thinking of getting out of bed yesterday I made a mental note to conduct a search for you on the interwebs.
Thanks, Gene.
FYI. I did have to search out this site. Your email notifications are coming through as blank gray pages.
Well, I for one have missed you a great deal.. However I do agree with you, there is a time for everything and everyone. Family must always come first, we will always be here, least I hope we are.
I wanted to let you know, I too got off jury duty…. Didn’t even have to make the trip.
Enjoy the Fall season, enjoy time with the Mrs, & keep the head down and eye on the ball. : )
Welcome back Gerry……
Thank you, Cat.
Well, I am glad you’re “back”. I did miss your wit and was starting to feel my days were a bit mundane without it. Happy Autumn!
Thank you, Sherry. Same to you!
i missed you ger, i was very excited to see you had posted a new blog entry…. although i would have found out sooner if facebook updating me on these things like it used to… i guess it’s back to old fashioned “bookmarks” and “surfing” if i want to find out what is going on in the world…
Nice to have you back. I missed you.
Amy Parmenter
Thank you, my dear.
