Slightly Sick. Very Funny.

If they gave out Emmys for commercials…these actors are 30-second specialists.

About Gerry

I've been covering Connecticut news and sports since 1974. I know, I don't look that old.

That guy is quite a masticator.

  2. What kind of ad budget does this company have? I agree. This one is funny. The dad has a Chevy Chase quality. Subtle. Perfect. And the daughter’s great, too. Good comic acting, which is mostly about timing. Theirs is impeccable.

I hope they have a bottomless ad budget! I have no idea what the spots have to do with insurance, but I know they’re for GEICO, and that’s all they care about. (And I was thinking a lowkey Will Ferrell.)

  3. A lowkey Will Ferrell is a proxymoron

  4. Ed from CT says:

Yes, this is definitely a Gerry-type of spot.
And it also gives me another reason not to eat sushi.

Ger!!! I thought the same thing when I saw this ad. Love his ‘chewing’. …

Gerry, they actually do give out Emmy’s for commercials. The Eminem Chrysler commercial won this year.

Thanks for posting this – happened to catch the end of it yesterday, saw just enough to know I wanted to see it again from the beginning.
I’m curious to see if this commercial will lose its charm over time, or continue to amuse, as did – in my opinion – AllState’s “Mayhem” commercials.

  8. Rocky's Mom says:

That was sorta sick but did make me LOL. So glad that you are back with your blogs. I don’t Facebook, twitter or tweet…”too old-fashioned” I guess, (I still use my cell phone to make calls) but look forward to reading your blogs.
