Do you let email accumulate in your inbox?
I don’t, but I made a fascinating (some might say horrifying) discovery. My co-anchor, Ms. Keisha Grant, has 10,864 emails in her Hotmail inbox. (As of 8:30 pm on July 4th, 2011.)
Doesn't know meaning of "delete."
10,864.
I have two.
She has 465 emails in her work inbox.
I have eight.
I asked Ms. Keisha Grant how she managed to amass 10,864 (plus 465) emails. If I recall correctly, she replied, “Don’t judge.”
Why she might think I’m making fun, I do not know. I think it takes patience, determination, and a fair amount of work to accumulate 10,864 emails. So Ms. Keisha Grant is not a subject of ridicule, but of admiration.
I have a lot of catching up to do.

I have 1,072 in my personal email inbox on AOL. I have a business account on AOL that has a “new mail” and “old mail” (haha, old mail/male cracks me up…) and it moves the mail I’ve read into the old mail account so I don’t have to see it every time I get new mail….but then I looked and saw the Old Mail account has 1,213 in it.
So while it’s not on par with Keisha I too say “don’t judge”! I’m too distractable to sit and delete all the mail I’ve already read and don’t need.
Judge? Moi?
OMG – she’s either very, very popular or a closet hoarder! I’m going with the very, very popular. I read my emails, then…zap!…they’re gone! Unless there’s a special message….then I’ll keep it a few days. If it’s important, I make a paper copy to keep. Then, it’s gone! I don’t like clutter! I can’t imagine seeing over 10,000 emails in my account! Ms. Grant….you must delete! By the way, Ms Grant, I love your new hairstyle.

Great post! My primary personal e-mail (I refuse to lose the hyphen) inbox generally hovers around 900+, mainly because AOL 9.0 (I have an OLD computer) cuts me off at 1,000.
As for saved e-mails – you don’t want to know….
Gee, now I don’t feel bad that I have emails right now, and that is after deleting about 150 today so far.

I’m a delete the e-mails type. I do keep some of course the “important” e-mails, but when I’m finished with those, they also get deleted. But it’s great we are all have our own way, how boring it would be if we were all the same. 🙂
I have 59 e-mails as we speak and I can already feel my pulse racing, my blood pressure picking up, a queasy feeling in my stomach, and a mind numbing urge to get that number down to zero.
Wow, I’m not worthy! I wondered why my ‘old’ email (as in read, not deleted) folder was so hard to open. I was stunned to find I had about 1,000 emails dating back to 2009 hanging around. I quickly deleted (well…maybe it was my husband that deleted…) everything up to June 1, 2011.
I’d like to know how Gerry knew how many e-mails Keisha had or had not opened…………….
Don’t know how many she’s opened. I just asked how many she had, total.

I have 2280 right now in my Inbox (on Outlook) and I really hate to delete most of them, because ” you never know” when you’re going to need to go back and see what someone said a year ago about some random thing! I’m just kidding about that, but sometime I do need to pull an old email from months ago and I usually can find it in my Inbox. I really hate taking them and putting them into e-folders (for business purposes). That seems to clean up the Inbox, but makes it harder to find an old email, if you need it at a later date. It’s funny how everyone has different likes and dislikes about their email.
