Whatsamatta With Balloons?

The political scribblers and yakkers are having a good time with a line used to introduce the newest candidate for president.

In the video for former Utah governor Jon Huntsman, the narration said, “Not in it for the balloons.”

I don’t know much about Huntsman.  He said some good things in his speech, but who doesn’t love balloons?  I suppose we really don’t know if he’s anti-balloon, but why denigrate balloons in the first place?

What would a political convention be without balloons?

2008 Republican convention

If you’ve never watched a helium-filled balloon rise into the sky until it disappears from sight, I’m not sure we need to know each other.

I don’t think our president needs to be in it for the balloons.  I just want to know he/she isn’t anti-balloon.

You gotta love balloons.  It’s that simple.

You’d figure people who are so full of hot air, would love them some balloons.

You sure they didn’t say “Walloons”? That would be more representative for a crypto-protectionist pol like Huntsman.
