Kinda Creepy

Archaeologists in Florence, Italy are digging for the remains of the woman many believe was the model for da Vinci’s Mona Lisa in the 16th century.

They want to compare DNA from the remains of Lisa Gherardini with that of her descendants.  And according to their spokeswoman:  “We want to find the skull and make a portrait of the Mona Lisa.”

Huh?  Didn’t da Vinci already do that?  Is there an expiration date for “rest in peace?”  Can’t the benign mystery of the Mona Lisa remain just that?

It just seems so much more civilized to let the great Nat King Cole sing about her, doesn’t it?

I saw this last night and had to do a double take. If their reasoning behind this is to find the skull and make a model of the head, they still have to figure how to get the smile.I always believed it was caused by a little gas from all that pasta and garlic. Just a thought.

    Is nothing sacred ?

  4. That is very funny, Bill.

Yes it does seem so much more civilized!

“Is there an expiration date for “rest in peace?”” Funny, but I guess not. Who would be nuts enough to think they can make another portrait of her that would not be a joke compared to the original?

Now I am done with my comment but don’t want to post till this video is over. Just watched it again actually. And the next one, “When I Fall in Love”. I have listened to him many times, but don’t thing I have ever seen him perform before.

Now I am dancing in my seat to “Blue Moon” and am already in a better mood. Thanks for the post!
