Walk On

You can’t walk on water, but you can walk on ice.

These things work.  Just thought you’d want to know.

Now if we could only get studded snow tires back.  If only for a day.  (If you don’t remember studded snow tires, don’t ask.)

Could always tell the guy who forgot to take them off for the season. No sneaking around with those tires on.

  2. We’ve been using the very similar Yaktrax for years. Being able to slip and fall on dry, flat land, I couldn’t survive the winter here without them!

    This is a true story…
We had a housemate in college… from Florida… who bought a set of studded snowtires…he knew nothing about the snow.

In the spring we told him…after you take the tires off…you have to pull all the studs out with a pair of pliars so they won’t rust over the summer.

He got through two whole tires before he caught on…then he had to put them all back in.

He doesn’t come to the reunions.

Let’s see, ice starts melting at 33 degrees and the ad says “WinterTrax can be worn in temps as low as 41 degrees”. Just wait a little while and you won’t need them. Besides,New Englanders consider 41 degrees Spring.

Bought a set of YakTrax several years ago after I took a header down the sidewalk and into my neighbor’s van. Love them! Just don’t wear them on a tile floor…they become skates especially if they’re wet.

I haven’t seen these in Canada that I recall. Interesting concept.

  9. Bill says:

Got a pair for Christmas so I could use them for hiking. Been using them more in the icy parking lot at my condo. 🙂

  10. Joan Gurski says:

Just ordered a pair for my mother-in-law; it’s the only way she’ll get out of the house this winter at this rate!

  11. Babs says:

I’ve used those things for a couple years now & I swear by them. For almost the same price you can get 2 pairs on qvc. That’s where I get them and now they have handy velcro straps to help them stay on. http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.F05500.desc.YakTrax-2-Pair-of-Snow-and-Ice-WinterTrax-with-Security-Strap. I’m hoping not to get any more use out of them this season though!
