I’m Somebody Now!

“The new phone book’s here! The new phone book’s here!   Page 73 – Johnson, Navin R.! I’m somebody now!” (Steve Martin in “The Jerk”)

That’s pretty much how I feel on seeing the news that the Mother Ship (NBC Universal) has decided to step up its courtship of  viewers in the 55-64 demographic.

Also known as:  Me.

The Mother Ship commissioned a survey on us and found us to be worthy of the attention of advertisers.

I hope they didn’t spend a lot of money on this.  Because, as a good and faithful employee of The Peacock, I would have told them.  For nothing.

Boomers still rule.

That’s me too! But what does it mean? I hope it doesn’t mean more Cialis commercials. They just make me want to change the channel!

I hope that means less cat-juggling. It’s just evil and cruel. I’d pay anything to stop that.

  3. Re: those Cialis spots. Why are those Boomers in different bathtubs? Is this the 21st century version of Dick Van Dyke and Mary T. Moore in separate beds? And why would the Cialis ad folks choose an image that reminds us of plumbing?

I know. Go to my room.
