What’s Wrong With This Picture?

That awful woman is letting that poor defenseless child stand on a metal chair?  Call DCF!  And is that chicken wire on the balcony?  You think that will keep that kid from a free fall to a concrete driveway?  No way!  And what’s that in her hand…a pack of cigarettes?  What kind of mother is she?

In a word:  fabulous!

Happy Mother’s Day.

Happy mother’s day Rose. You must be so proud of Ger.

  2. Li'l Em-Kel says:

It’s clear from the clues you cite in the post that you likely fell and hit your head more than once as a child.

    Welcome to the club.

Anyway, your Mom raised a fine boy. Happy Mother’s Day to her.

  3. Happy Mom’s Day to yours, Gerry. By the way, if you go looking for ” chicken wire ” these days you’ll learn that it’s now called ” poultry netting. ” But you probably know that. I’ve heard your DB has your deck surrounded by it.

LOVE THE PICTURE!! The good ole days.
We had a car with the floor interior with a hole!!!
We loved watching the road go by.

Is that a ’48 Chevy Powerglide in the background?

  6. Lacey says:

Awww. Cute picture. 🙂 Those were the good old days when people weren’t afraid of their own shadows. Hope you enjoyed this beautiful day with your mom. 🙂

  7. Mary says:

And look how you turned out Gerry. Maybe we need to good back to the good old days when mom knew best and everyone else minded their own business.

  8. Linda Adler-Brooks says:

In our neighborhood our Moms minded EVERYONES business…and it worked well for a lot of years. Then came garage door openers, and everyone decided to go inside and ignore what didn’t affect them. I was happy with those boundaries, and so were my kids.
    Happy belated Mothers Day everyone!!

  9. Herb says:

Great picture Gerry. BTW, I have 3 of those metal chairs. My wife wanted to throw them out because they were rusty, but some steel wool, elbow grease and Rust-oleum saved the day! They’re good as new and will last another 50 years…
