And Then They Said, “Let’s See Ya Dance”

The Mashantuckets and Mohegans have clout.  At least $400 million of it.

The legislature’s Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee let a bill to ban smoking in the casinos die.

From an Associated Press report:  State Rep. Cameron Staples, D-New Haven, the committee’s co-chairman, says there’s concern the tribes would fight the ban in court and withhold the $400 million they provide the state in slot machine revenue.

Ohhhhhhh!  I get it!

$400 million?  That’ll buy more than 5.7 million packs of cigarettes.  Smoke ’em if you got ’em.

  1. I’m surprised the state did not say to the casino’s…

Give us another $250,000,000 and we will look the other way….they sold out way to short!

  2. Gerry says:

They do seem to be fully vested partners, no?
