This is the rooftop pool at one of the places we stayed in the Dominican.  As you can see, there are no tushes on those chaises…the umbrellas are down…and the sky is gray.  (All together now: “I’ve been for a walk on  a winter’s day.”  Very good.)

It seems the sun decided to go on vacati0n at the same time we did.  But if you’re with the right people (the Dearly Beloved, of course, and our friends John and Mary) and have the right attitude (supplemented by the right spirits), a good time can still be had by all.  And when you summon your inner Boston accent, spa and bar rhyme.  And at this place, both are dandy.

Still, it’s time to come home.  Gotta see some sun.
