ADIEU INDEED

More snow is on the way, and if you need a little something to warm you up, here it is.

The Kid

The Kid

It has a memorable title.  “Hub Fans Bid Kid Adieu.”

It coined the phrase used so many times since to describe Fenway Park:  “a lyric little bandbox of a ballpark.”

It’s about the unforgettable Ted Williams.  And it was written by a literary giant, John Updike.

John Updike died Tuesday.  With pitchers and catchers reporting in 18 days, I thought this would be a nice way to remember him.
