I’ve never pulled a comment on a post and put it on the front page before, but Linda L. gets the nod for her comment on Ted Kennedy, Jr.’s eulogy at his father’s funeral.
I hope the sentiments expressed yesterday will prompt our elected officials as well as news commentators, lobbyists, and the general public to [...]

August Exits

Already?  Summer’s over?  Can’t be.  Hasn’t even started yet, has it?
Look around.  Usually by the end of August there’s some color in the trees.  A hint of red or yellow.  But it’s still solid green.
Maybe the seasons are time shifting.  Maybe September and October will be the new May and June.
Maybe.

Junior

What a remarkable performance by Ted Kennedy, Jr. at his father’s funeral.
If you’re not aware, he adopted Connecticut as his home some time ago.  He went to Wesleyan, grad school at Yale, and UConn Law.  He and his family live in Branford.

I never was much for wearing caps when I played golf until I woke up one morning to discover that most of my hair had gone away and wasn’t coming back.

Ted

So many tributes to Ted Kennedy today, so I’ll share this one observation.
For those of us who experienced the grief and horror of November, 1963 and June, 1968…the one consolation is in the Globe’s headline.

Red Sox General Manager Theo Epstein on Jonathan Papelbon and his questionable comments on the team acquiring reliever Billy Wagner.
“I think Pap feels he was misunderstood.  He’s not a Rhodes Scholar to begin with.”  (Boston Globe)
And how does your boss feel about you?

If I’m writing something, I can’t be listening to my iPod.
If I’m reading something, I can’t be having a telephone conversation at the same time.
I don’t multi-task.  I can’t multi-task.  I can only do one thing well at a time.
I used to be somewhat envious of the younger people around me (OK, OK, they’re almost all younger) who seemed to [...]
