I will leave it to others far more qualified than me to analyze John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as a running mate.
Because I’m in a travel mode right now, I’m just as interested in where she’s from as I am in who she is.  I mean, someone who was mayor of Wasilla, Alaska just six [...]

One the day John McCain picks the first woman ever to run for veep on a GOP ticket…this news breaks:
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Pro golfer Tripp Isenhour has pleaded no contest to charges he faced for killing a protected hawk.  Attorney David de Armas said Friday that Isenhour agreed to one year of supervised probation, [...]

Freshly culled from the viewer emailbag, we present the thought of Ken from Granby:
“It is completely evident, when it comes to politics, that NBC and and you as an affiliate are in the tank for Obama.  This has been researched and verified unequivocably.  It’s sad that NBC and NBC30 has chosen to slant the News [...]

HIP HOP DOWN THE AISLE

The new trend in wedding receptions: the bride and groom putting on a show on the dance floor.
Why not?  You only get to do it once.
(Well, at least one big reception, anyway.  The second time around you might pull a hammy or something.)

Looking back at 16 days of Olympics coverage, my favorite moment lasted two, maybe three seconds.  It came at the end of the opening ceremony.  There was no cheering, no sound at all.
It was a picture of Jim McKay.  A dedication to the grandmaster of Olympics reporting, who died earlier this year.
The man responsible for that quiet, [...]

SUCH A DEAL

Watched the closing ceremony Sunday night, and the one line that knocked me cold came from the mouth of Bob Costas.  He observed that China had spent upwards of 40-billion dollars on the Olympics.  40-billion dollars to walk onto the world’s stage.
40-BILLION DOLLARS.
Heaven knows they put on a fabulous show.  Even though some of the [...]

Overheard this weekend after another schizophrenic round of golf at lovely Tallwood C.C….
Someone asked if a former member would be visiting anytime soon.  The answer was yes, but he wouldn’t be staying long because his father-in-law won’t let him watch FOX News in his house.  Turns out the father-in-law is a staunch MSNBC man.
Not a [...]
